Raised in Pennsylvania , my husband and I moved to central Florida in 1979. We now reside in DeLand, Florida.
Throughout my art career I have studied and worked to improve my skills and techniques. Beginning with watercolor and eventually exploring most of the two dimensional media, my journey has never been static.
In 2003 we took our first trip to Italy and I’ll never be the same. My work is heavily influenced by the Italian countryside, light, architecture, and people. My wanderings can easily be traced by my paintings. Everywhere I go, I find something that captivates my attention and demands to be painted. Whether working in plein air or in the studio my goal is to capture the spirit of time and place that inspires me.
Currently I'm working predominantly in oils, painting landscapes most often using painting knives. I'm thrilled to say that my new painting"October Fields" has been accepted into the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition for 2018.
My illustration work includes "The Adventures With PawPaw" by Diana Scimone, “Born To Fly” also by Diana Scimone, a wordless book for Born2fly.org designed to teach children and their parents about the dangers of child trafficking, as well as several book cover illustrations for local authors.
Beginning in the 1990’s I spent several years painting wall murals all over central Florida in homes and businesses. A particularly memorable job was painting murals in the home of a professional baseball player in Boston.
In 1998 I painted sidewalk chalk drawings for Disney World's Animation Celebration. Finally, throughout my career I have participated in outdoor art festivals and exhibitions, and taught a variety of painting and drawing classes to children and adults.
